Less than 30 minutes from our luxury suites in the heart of the Devon Valley, you’ll find Ludwig’s Roses Winelands. This is the place to visit if you are looking for roses in the Western Cape, with Ludwig’s boasting a history of introducing novel species and educating burgeoning gardeners for over 50 years. 

Aside from the colourful blooms, you’ll also find a lovely bistro stocking wines and beer, some general nurseries, and a well-known butchery and deli located on the Klein Joostenberg premises. Where better to take some time to reflect and enjoy the blossoming new year than amongst nature’s most intriguing flowers?

Delectable dining at Clos Malverne in the Devon Valley

Stellenbosch boasts one of the finest culinary scenes in South Africa, if not the continent. If your New Year’s resolutions involve trying something new, expanding your palate, or simply enjoying more of the good things in life, this charming town and the surrounding Winelands promise to check the box. 

We recommend taking in the splendour of our neighbouring farm, Clos Malverne, while dining on the wraparound balcony and sipping on one of their delicious wines, or feasting on the offerings of a chef that has helped shape the South African food scene at the nearby Jordan Restaurant. As a bonus, both restaurants often offer dishes featuring an Eos-approved favourite: golden-hued saffron.
